A stance emerges.
Sugar takes space, enters context,
claims its presence.
These photographs bring together two
geographies within me: the Causses*,
where I grew up, and sugar,
a material I am just learning.
Sugar also carries another part of me Mauritius, a place I never lived in, yet that shapes my identity. The pieces are fragile and uncertain, inscribing both my practice and my origins.
